There is now a huge hole in the garden that will be lined with a porous membrane and filled with gravel to allow groundwater and runoff to seep into it, rather than cause a waterlogged garden. The two vertical pipes will continue to stick up as markers once the soil covers it over, and will eventually be connected under the surface.
